I'm honestly at the end of tether. I've felt sick and nauseous everyday, all day, for almost two years. It just won't end. Anti sickness tablets aren't helping. Anti anxiety tablets aren't helping. Why is life so cruel 😭 I don't even leave the house anymore

What tests have you had done? I know someone like this who ended up being diagnosed celiac.

TiredMum30 · 16/07/2023 22:55

Any other symptoms? Or just the nausea?

Jongleterre · 16/07/2023 22:56

Have you tried travel sickness wristbands? I was sceptical but they worked well for me when I had morning sickness with my first child.

justasking111 · 16/07/2023 22:59

Do you take any medication over the counter or prescribed?

I've got cyclizine and ondansetron both apparently are the best anti sickness medications but they aren't helping at all 😭 it's so draining. I hardly slept last night and I still feel so sick

Just constant nausea and sickness. Because my eating has pretty much stopped I do feel dizzy a lot now and out of breath but it's mainly the nausea 😭 just can't cope anymore

Colonoscopy and endoscopy, that's all so far. The Gastro team seem to have given up and just said it's probably fibromyalgia but I genuinely can't live like this anymore 😭

I'm willing to give anything a go so thank you I'll have a look but I'm on two types of anti sickness so I really hoped they would help 😭

This might be a long shot, but my husband and I, and especially me, suffered from nausea for months, years in my case. Really awful constant feeling of motion sickness. It was fixed by buying a ceramic water filter. We have the Berkey one. I just assumed the nausea was something I had to get used to but then we bought one and I only started getting nausea when staying somewhere else, my MIL got one and I stopped getting nausea at her place. Now I only drink filtered or bottled water, and I boil the kettle with filtered water too, and haven't had the nausea for years. No idea why it worked, and this absolutely isn't a sales pitch but if can help someone else I had to share! They're expensive but worth it for us.

Have you tried a proton pump inhibitor. Makes include, Omeprazole, Lansoprazole and Nexium. Taking a daily dose with a low dose of Amitriptyline saved me. Ask the GP if you can try it.

cptartapp · 17/07/2023 09:59

I'd be asking for a head MRI.

justasking111 · 17/07/2023 11:24

@needhelpgivelove how much weight have you lost?

I'd be asking for a head MRI.

Out of curiosity why? For possible brain tumours or mental health problems lol. Because I've had so many doctors prescribe me anti anxiety medications thinking I'm just anxious which is very frustrating 🙈

Okay.

Have you had your gallbladder checked

Have you been abroad

They put me on omeprazole but my endoscopy showed no inflammation so they took me off it

Worth getting thyroid checked out and head MRI.
I had issues years ago with nausea (really difficult to brush my teeth as my gag reflex was on overdrive), lethargy and crushing migraines.
Turned out to be a thyroid issue which in turn was causing my pituitary gland to go haywire.
Apparently I was at high risk of having a stroke

cptartapp · 17/07/2023 11:36

For a tumour. The dizziness would also be worrying. An ENT referral may be beneficial too. Have you had a chest x day to investigate the shortness of breath?

justasking111 · 17/07/2023 11:36

@Imanalias . That is good advice. I had a full blood work done, they discovered low folic acid. So am now on tablets I had no idea. It explained some symptoms though.

How long did you take it for? It takes a while to work. In your shoes I would definitely try it again.

caramac04 · 17/07/2023 14:35

I used to get this every day and long story short it was caffeine.
I limit my caffeine intake and drink mostly decaf coffee.
I hope it is something as simple for you.
Constant nausea is so debilitating.

MissSmiley · 17/07/2023 14:48

You haven't got a mirena coil have you?

Ostryga · 17/07/2023 15:34

I would also suggest a head mri. Constant sickness can be a sign of a brain tumour - most likely it absolutely isn’t but it’s worth getting it checked out.

Ask to be put on the 2 week pathway.

I have chronic fatigue syndrome and i used to suffer horrendously with nausea, this is why I asked if you have any other symptoms. I found my nausea was constant for the first few years because I wasn't allowing myself to pace, I had 3 young children and was constantly on the go, it nearly always resulted in me vomiting on a night. Now I've learned to take notice of when I'm doing too much, so I pace myself and I'm only nauseous or sick when I've done too much.
