Something stuck in foot

About a year ago, I was in my kitchen barefoot and stood on something tiny on my kitchen floor. It felt like a crumb of toast or something similar. I don't know hownit happened, maybe I brushed it off and thought it was gone, but a few days later realised it was still in my foot. Again, I'm.not fully sure what happened I know that I suspected it was still there a few days later but couldn't see anything. Anyway, over time it has tuned into a pea sized lump with a black head on the sole of my foot. It is uncomfortable to stand on it in bare feet but I can't really feel it in shoes. Obviously it has to go. I've contacted a foot clinic but for some reason feel really anxious about what might happen. Has anyone any idea how it will be treated? Will I need surgery? For some reason it has really given me the 🤮

Sporner Corner is a group in here. They like things like this and can be helpful. Warning -they also like gross things and love spot popping

Here is a pic. I'm sorry 🤮 I've put 'sensitive image' just in case anyone wants to opt out of seeing my foot. The pic isn't bad at all, but sometimes u have to be in the mood to see pictures of body parts!

I've just cleaned the sole of my foot with a wipe and the black dot has gone. Sorry, it was dirt 😲 😱 😲

I just remembered I have a foot file. I might try to file the lump, as it's hard.
Sorry this sounds like some kind of farcical comedy!

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Mystery solved

denpark · 08/07/2023 02:37

Lump could be your body encapsulating whatever is in it. If it's at all squishy it could be a little cyst. If it's hard, almost could be a corn?

Partypiddler · 08/07/2023 02:38

It's hard lump thatbstart around the time o stood on the mystery item. I don't thinknits a verucca especially as the black dot washed away lol

I had something similar but within a week it was really painful so I went to the podiatrist and it was a tiny shard of glass 😳 I couldn't feel it with my finger but could when I was walking

this stuff is amazing for drawing stuff out if there’s something stuck in there

If there is something there, they'll gently scrape the layers of skin off the top of it first. If they can tell that it's very close to the surface and can be removed safely/easily, you'll have a second of sensation and it'll be gone.

If it is larger and requires more work to remove, that's where some local anaesthetic and a dressing comes into play.

You'll also get gently told off for being barefoot in the kitchen in the first place. It's the place most likely to have tiny shards of glass or crockery waiting years to pounce on your feet and is also the most likely place to drop heavy things or spill dangerous substances on them - the only places worse in their opinion to be barefoot will be the garden/shed/garage.
