Blood results normal?

Hi everyone, I'm unsure what haematocrit is on a FBC but it has come back very high or very low and I'm unsure what this means, I wondered if anyone can help interpret this for me? The rest of the results on the FBC look good but it's just this one... it says 0.37-0.47 is normal range and mine is 0.385 which to me looks a huge difference but again I'm not a doctor, I've been so unwell for a long time now so really want to know what this could mean? ( I have contacted doctors they said the full tests are not back yet so they won't view it yet until it is) online says it could be anemia or the horrid C word but again all of the FBC results are within range as I've checked, it is just this one strangely enough. Thanks!

It’s completely normal.

Thank you for responding. I wasn't sure what it meant, that is reassuring :)

Does it make more sense to you if you think of the normal range as being 0.370 - 0.470? Your result is 0.385 which is in-between 0.370 and 0.470 which means its within the normal range.

Haematocrit is the proportion of red blood cells you have in your blood. This website is really good at explaining what tests are/what they're looking for etc:

As for your numbers, ignore the "0." bit. The normal range is then between 370 and 470. Your figure of 385 is between those numbers so you're within normal range.
