Molloscum?

Help! I think as a 40 year old I have the bloody molloscum spots on my legs!
2 of my sons have them so I fear it must be them! They’ve only ever had a couple that have always disappeared but I’ve had these for a month or so now and are multiplying! What can I do?! Trying to save a trip to the GPs if possible!!

OP, you have my every sympathy. This broke out on DC over a year ago after a weekend with two friends who had it. It’s only just fully gone. GP said leave it to go away on its own (this was when entire torso covered in hideous bumps). I wasn’t up for that, nor the constant washing of every clothing or fabric and daily bed change every single day as they also suggested!

Started with good old Sudacrem which did take down some of the initial redness, but another would just pop up, then tried some oil from Amazon (as recommended on MN, which just burnt and hurt DC skin so much, but others had success so that might work for you). Finally discovered some patches from an Australian company, but couldn’t get them here, asked a relative to ship from there for me. They are plasters which smelt like tea tree oil and you pop them over the bumps, one or two bumps burst overnight and that triggered the rest to clear up within a week (a few scars left now from the previously damaged bumps) and I wish I’d known about this plaster method before applying the other burning stuff! I’ll look up the product I used for you and report back, if you don’t find in the meantime. I wouldn’t waste time with GP appointment- pharmacy also told me it’s not a condition GPs prescribe for, they always advise leaving it 🤷‍♀️

I found it again, it was Mollenol patches (and oil) that cleared it all up. Dc has v.sensitive skin and these didn’t aggravate at all. I’ve also just realised I ordered more to keep in case it returned, as I remember it took a while for them to arrive. Might be worth checking if any U.K. pharmacy stocks.

Oh fantastic, thank you!
I really don’t want to have to leave the bleeding things - I’d really like to be able to get my legs out when the suns out but my legs look horrendous 😟

The reason it takes the body so long to clear it is because it's in the top layers of the skin and it doesn't trigger an immune response.

Advice is to squeeze the largest one. Just that one. As it bleeds it will alert the body and your natural defences will attack the rest.
