D+V, can I go to work tomorrow

Was feeling a bit funny last night and since about 11am this morning I’ve been constantly sick, throwing up water now as I haven’t eaten a thing today. Feel so grim. I can’t face eating anything which for me is an extreme rarity (lol)
managed to drink some coke and lucozade as had a massive craving but watching it as I still feel like I can throw up. I’m back at work tomorrow, if I’m feeling better and stop being sick and going toilet can I go in? Worried to take time off, not been back long after maternity and have a busy workload. Think I caught this from DC who was sick the other day :(

No! 48 hours after the last bout!

nocoolnamesleft · 03/07/2023 19:39

You caught it off your kid. If you go into work, how many people will catch it from you? 48 hours from last bout.

specialsauce · 03/07/2023 19:39

No.

Please keep the D&V to yourself. It spreads like wildfire.

Get well soon though!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 03/07/2023 19:41

No. Please wait until 48 hours after your last bout of d or v.

as you’ve seen it spreads easily, why would you want to inflict it on your colleagues?

Blueevening · 03/07/2023 19:49

I don’t want to give it to my colleagues I’m just worried about calling in sick

What about everyone else, their families and people they care for?

blondieminx · 03/07/2023 19:52

NHS guidance says stay home for 48 hours - see yellow box on the link Here

PLEASE don’t just go in and end up spreading it. Your colleagues may be vulnerable themselves or have vulnerable household members.

Which do you think would look worse, one person calling in sick, or causing everyone else at work to vomit copiously and have to all call in sick?

veryfluffyfluff · 03/07/2023 19:53

No!

Come on surely you know this.

Fobabett · 03/07/2023 19:53

I used to feel guilty for calling in sick, but as long as you know you're being honest then don't worry. I guarantee that no-one you works with wants D&V!

Borgonzola · 03/07/2023 19:54

No!

Blueevening · 03/07/2023 19:55

I’ll call in tomorrow, I do feel awful
