DH has been on it since yesterday & has been being sick

Is it a bug or the medication?

I think medication......but what do I know

He has a trapped nerve in his neck btw & it could take 4 weeks to clear

Yes it does come vertically down his back. By the way - did he have a fall / trauma of some sort and is it getting worse generally or staying the same / getting better. Any other symptoms of any kind at all?

KatyMac · 24/02/2008 22:13

No nothing

I was convinced it was a heart attack it's in his shoulder coming down his arm

He has been almost in tears with the pain (thursday & Friday - funnily enough that's what got him to the Dr)

It got worse during last week Saturday he was out of it - today it is marginally better - but not much

He is a dance teacher & has cancelled all his classes

I had to teach 4 classes of rainbows/brownies/guides yesterday & it's been 10 yrs since I taught

oh lordy - I wouldn't wish that kind of teaching on anyone .

Seriously - tell him to stop messing and go straight to osteopath tomorrow and they will refer him on for an x-ray / scan if they feel that it's not 'mechanical'. Nerve pain is foul.

KatyMac · 24/02/2008 22:21

Is it different to my sciatica?

I get told to put up with that

Not different in principle as a trapped nerve is a trapped nerve BUT for some reason, pain near your head is more consuming. Also, lots of things get diagnosed as sciatica when they aren't (I'm not saying you didn't have it though!).

He needs to be checked properly by someone who can do a full neurological examination and rule out anything sinister that requires medical attention and treat him appropriately and get him sorted.

So Osteo tomorrow - I will see if I can persuade him

Thanks

btw I can feel my sciatica all the way to my 2nd toe.......

Oh yukky - that's dreadful and no you don't have to put up with it!!!

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 24/02/2008 22:34

p.s. to find a registered osteo near you, you can go to the General Osteopathic Council website. Clcik on 'find an osteopath' and then you punch in your post code and a list of your locals will come up.

KatyMac · 24/02/2008 22:36

Thanks for the website

As for my sciatica - doncha just love GP's
