Random dizziness/sickness when sitting (or standing) in certain positions

OK so it's a bit of a weird one. All I can see from Dr. Google is about dizziness when getting up from sitting but this isn't that...

So the earliest I can remember it happening is in my early 20s (now in my 30s). Sometimes when I sit in certain chairs, or in certain positions, usually keeping my back straight or having to lean forward using my stomach muscles, I get the feeling I might pass out - that clammy sick feeling of 'oh I might faint'. Its happened on the train and I had to put my head inbetween my legs. It's happened twice while getting my hair cut. It happened this evening at a restaurant that had oddly high chairs so I was leaning forward a lot.

Now I am thinking about it it has also happened when standing on the train, and when standing getting my wedding dress fitted... so maybe it's not a sitting thing... but it reminds me of when I was pregnant and couldn't sit or lie in certain positions without nearly passing out (and once actually passing out) so it makes me think its something to do with my circulation. Apparently I have normal blood pressure and did in pregnancy too. I'm fairly tall and chubby but not huge but even at my slimmest this has happened. Day to day I just sit in comfy positions or lay down so it's not a day to day problem.

Just wondered if anyone has experienced similar or has any ideas of what might cause it?

yes! But i;m old (64) and have arthritis in joints. GP thinks I'm trapping a nerve in my neck when I move my head quickly from side to side, like when crossing a road.

sorry... not trapping a nerve, but trapping a blood vessel and restricting blood flow to brain

Have you looked into POTS

POTS?

Sounds like a vestibular disorder.

There's a few it could be with nuances between the symptoms but all essential dysfunction of the inner ear balance system .

I have suffered and believe me it is suffering

It could be labrynthiris (unlikely as that a acute), Menieres or BBPV or vertigo (which is a symptom rather than a illness)

They all have dizziness. I had them all. Totally grim

Try the epley manouvere and sturgeon tables if unbearable

Hmm, thanks. I have looked at POTS but again it's usually about standing causing the dizziness. It could be inner ear related cause I do get randomly dizzy sometimes, like I feel I am going over a wave in a boat... I do feel like I am somehow retricting blood flow or have odd circulation causing it. 🤔 mysterious but doesn't cause me too much trouble. I'll keep an eye on my symptoms though.
