and she is literally peeing herself twice a day.

This has been going on for 3 weeks now. At first I just noticed she had damp knicks after school. I had no idea when or where she had done the wee.

Then on one day she camehome with fresh clothes on and her trousers etc in a bag. I spoke to the teacher and said could they keep an eye on her, and to ask her to go to the loo.

I asked dd, and she said that she forgets sometimes. I asked her if she leves it too late and she siad yes.

So anyway, as we both had colds, and were unwell I took her to gp last tuesday, who checked for urine infection and that was clear. GP said it might be that she had an 'irritated bladder' thru being ill .

This wek its been half term and despite me asking her if she needs to go, its still happening.

I have tried to get her to explain what happnes, but she insists she doesn't even realise sheis doing it? She says she 'can't feel it'. I have had a look online and have seen a few incidents saying its some sort of immature bladder? She is still wet at night too, which wasn't bothering me too much, but this seems such a regression.

i am really worried about this, any ideas??? obv need to go back to gp.

My dd had /has this she has recurrent UTI and the only sympton is peeing herself.

would be worth taking her to the dr's and getting it checked they sent me to the hospital for a scan on her kidneys and bladder .She was fine but it reassured me.
I know it sounds obvious but make sure she drinks tons of water and cranberry juice .

after about tendays of it, i did take her to gp, and she did a test on her wee in the surgery and it was clear.

The gp has been off this week, so maybe I shall take dd back there on monday??

How long has your dd being doing this, and how old is she? What did they say at the hospital.

I have also been reading (bloody internet) that some kiddies have small bladders??

Sorry I meant to say that if the gp didn't send a sample off but just dipsticked it. You should get her to send a sample off for further tests.

My Dd has always had a week bladder but it got worse when she was 4 and started with the weeing all the time she is 6 .5 now and it is better although she will sometimes get a poorly loo {her words}
She is still wet about 3 nights out of 7 too.

The hospital found nothing sinister and advised me to just give plenty of fluids and to avoid fizzy drinks and bath products bubble bath is a big no-no in this house.

Oneof the reasons I was worried is that there is a history of kidney problems in my family .

If you are really worried ask the dr to be referred for an ultrasound .

Hope this helps and she is ok xx

my ds suffers similarly. It started to get really bad when he was about 4.6 and is just starting to get a bit better now (5.10). The paed diagnosed an immature bladder and he has been on meds for the last 12 months. He is still wet at night too.

It will get better piratecat - it just takes time

thanks ladies, I am really getting stressed by it now which I am obv not trying to convey to dd, its just I don't understand it.

I don't get how she doesn't feelthe urge or notice whenshe's done it, altho thelatter I think she is just ignoring.

I am worreid about school monday as at this rate she's goingto wet herslef at least 3 times.

She had done it already after being up for an hour. I ensure she keeps drinking, and we don't ever have bub bath either.

Maybe I should just book an appt moday morning and take her monday afternoon if poss.

bloody hell she's just done it again.

She was only in pants, as I have no bottoms left, have to do some ironing, and was wattching the tv. I just asked her if she needed the loo,and she said she had been, but that she was sorry she had done most of it in her knickers and opnly went when she realised thel were wet.

I almost feel like putting a pair of pullups on here, when we go out soon?? I have some here as she is not dry at night. I won't but its getting silly now.

Probably not the case with your dd, but my 4 yr old had a week of accidents with wee and then I realized she had threadworm: might have been coincidence (was first week back at pre-school after Xmas break) but it hasn't happened since. Every time was during the day, not at night, so took me a while to think of worms as possible cause

OTOH, a few of dd's classmates have been going through wee and/or poo issues recently - seem to be a resurgence of them around 4/5 for some reason. Some clearly linked to stress, some not at all.

Hope you find the solution soon, sounds worrying and stressful!

thanks elibean. She did it again when we were in town.

I will have to go to gp, but am just hoping it passes too.
