Hi,

I have really dry eyes and TruEye were the only leases I would wear from a prolonged period but now they have been discontinued.

I've tried alternatives which are just not as good. Anyone in the same position that can suggest alternatives?

I've got very dry eyes and my consultant says there aren't any contact lenses that I can wear currently....sadly. I'm using ikervis eye drops daily which are definitely helping but I do have to use other eye drops 4 times a day and wear my glasses.

It's frustrating isn't it? So far any of the alternatives aren't lasting more than 4 hours.

🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ sadly the 2 consultants I've seen don't have a solution. I'm waiting to have some "plugs" inserted into my tear ducts.

Biofinity energy's has a similar water content and oxygen permeability to your current lenses - but they're monthly.

Please don't just order a pack online though - they might not fit your eye and having dry eyes make an infection more likely anyway. See your optician for a check.

I presume you've had the reason for your dry eye investigated?

@theeyeofdoe I've always had ever dry eyes. Opticians always comment but have never given me a reason. I wasn't aware it needed investigation - should I be concerned?

@atlaz I have tried Oasys daily, Precision 1, EverClear Elite.

Precision 1 were terrible. I felt like scratching my eyes out immediately. Oasys and EverClear were only OK for an hour or two max.

I know it's an old thread, but I recommend getting continuous wear lenses but taking them out every night to rest your eyes.

They're thicker so they allow a lot more oxygen to the eye. It really makes a massive difference for me. I definitely prefer a slightly thicker lens over dry eyes.

Plus, not the end of the world if you can't/forget to take them out at night.
