Mosquito bites misery

I got bitten around 30 times a couple of weeks ago when at a barbecue (despite having sprayed myself liberally with repellent) and I am still itchy as heck on all the sites.
I take a daily anti-histamine because I react so badly to mosquito bites, but each bit is still angry, with a raised red swollen area a little smaller than a penny around it.
I have scratched a few of these (in my sleep) and just know these are going to scar.
I have tried everything the pharmacy suggests, but nothing seems to give any relief: does anyone else react this badly, and if so, have you found anything that stops the itching and calms the bite sites down?

To everyone that recommended the Beurer insect bite healer, THANK YOU SO MUCH! It is really helping with the itching, and the bites look better almost instantly. A game-changer for me👍🏻😁

Ooh the Beurer thing looks good! Has anyone used it for a child? DC age 8 gets bitten quite badly and they really bother her, but I don’t know if she’d be able to handle the heat from the Beurer?

We have a zap-it already (gives a teeny electric shock I think?), is the Beurer better than that?

Do you like marmite?

Something in it repels them.

Or a mixed B vitamins supplement will do the job.

I used to get eaten alive myself but heard about the marmite, tried it and it worked. Was being eaten alive in the Caribbean at the time!

These days I take a supplement and it's just as effective.

Yay! It really is a game changer! Glad it worked for you too.

Came back to say I got the Beurer thingy and it is AMAZING. I actually forgot I had so many bites until a couple of days later! Completely took the itch away, and really not that painful. Brilliant.

Also, just to say - I take a B vitamin and like Marmite and I still get bitten 😂

Ages ago someone recommended to me to take garlic tablets - since then minimal bites

Currently battling a couple of nasty bites - got caught out at sundown on first day of holiday 😓
heat trick is working for the itching - I haven’t scratched them once! But is there anything to reduce the redness? I tried ice as soon as I felt the bite, anthisan an hour or so later when I got back to the room and been doing the heat ever since when I feel the itch, but they’ve still gone bright red and look like I’ve got the plague 😓

I’m another one who suffers terribly and scratch in my sleep. I’m going to get one of those heat zappers for our holiday.

I heard a segment on the radio that those little circular spot treatment patches work on bites. Not tried but I’m going to pack some.

Antihistamines. You can take up to four of the 'one-a-day' every day.

This thread had saved my sleep tonight. I've been in agony with the itching. Just used the hairdryer trick and it's worked a treat!

I got a lot of bites on my face in the summer and the hot teaspoon trick saved my sanity. I can still remember the exquisite relief from the awful itching.
