What is the rash on my foot (photo)

It's not itchy
There's a further few bits at the base of my toes.
I've put sudocrem and athlete foot cream on it.

I had it back in April too but 2 weeks in a sunny Mexico saw it disappear within a few days.

Going to have to try and get it looked at by my GP aren't I? 🙈

Yes

babysoupdragon2 · 21/06/2023 07:27

Show a pharmacist first?

Mbop · 21/06/2023 07:30

I'd say excema. Use a specialist foot cream as your feet may be dry. Try not to wear socks and let them get as much fresh air as possible. Also hydrocortisone cream may help.

GayPareeee · 21/06/2023 07:32

How long did you use athlete's foot cream and which I've? I get eczema on my feet which can look similar and it normally takes daktacort from gp which is anti fungal and steroid

CostOfSieving · 21/06/2023 07:32

Athlete’s foot. No need for GP.

CostOfSieving · 21/06/2023 07:34

…posted too soon.

try Lamisil gel, and follow the instructions carefully. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to clear.

eurochick · 21/06/2023 07:45

I also think it looks like athlete's foot.

fugly1 · 21/06/2023 08:32

Go see a pharmacist first......GPs are already stretched to breaking point.

BG2015 · 21/06/2023 19:31

Thanks everyone.

To be honest I didn't use the athletes foot cream for long - was expecting miracles so will continue with it and see what happens.

Google Pompholyx, it looks a little like it!

MainliningChocolate · 21/06/2023 20:39

I think this is Pompholyx, looks identical to what I have. As other posters have suggested, and recommended by a nurse to me, copious amounts of athletes foot cream should clear it up. Will take a few weeks though

stayathomer · 21/06/2023 20:40

I’d check with the pharmacist

itsgettingweird · 21/06/2023 20:42

Do you suffer dischorric excema?

I get it and it's really deep blisters on the hand.

Occasionally it spreads to my feet and disappears when I'm abroad in sun sea and sand 🤷‍♀️

itsgettingweird · 21/06/2023 20:43

Btw the that's another name of phomplox excema which I see a few people have already suggested

greenacrylicpaint · 21/06/2023 20:47

that looks incredibly itchy.

I second previous poster, could be pomphylox (I never get the spelljng right). it's little blisters and then peeling skin.

if it doesn't go away with a week of otc steroid cream see the gp.

Looks like pompholyx to me. Athletes foot cream won't touch it. It's itchy as funky before it appears and then you have clusters of tiny blisters that dry out and look just like your foot. Then it peels.
I don't use any kind of steroid cream because, for me, it doesn't work and would cost me a fortune as its been part of my life for 30 years.

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 21/06/2023 21:39

Funky? Fuck.

BG2015 · 21/06/2023 21:59

It's not blistery, or itchy at all. It's more dry and flaky if anything.

OP posts:
greenacrylicpaint · 21/06/2023 22:06

scabies?

BG2015 · 21/06/2023 22:12

greenacrylicpaint · 21/06/2023 22:06

scabies?

Does scabies disappear when you've been in strong sunlight then reappear 2 months later?

I had this in April, same foot, same place.

The little dots look like pompholyx eczema to me. I get it on my hands and feet. Usually I just use eczema cream like diprobase for a few weeks until it clears up.

Worth seeing a pharmacist I'd say.
