Severe short lived stomach pain

Every so often I get a really severe stomach ache.
Last night I had a back ache, I felt like my muscles were cramping particularly on my right side. Then this moved to a right sided stomach ache. I had to lie still on my back and breathe through the pain, this lasted a couple of hours. As the pain started to wear my right leg and side were shaking. Then it all eased off.
I spoke to a dr via 111 who offered to make an appointment but the pain had stopped so I said I would contact my GO next week.

This first started about 2 years ago and has happened around 6 times. The last time November and time before that October. I’ve had a blood test straight after a couple of episodes which show inflammation but this goes back to normal when I have a repeat test a few weeks later. An ultra sound showed my gallbladder was fine. A CT was also clear.

Where do I go from here? When I last spoke to my GP he told me to go to A&E during the next episode which I did in October but the pain had subsided by the time I saw a dr, they then did a CT which was clear.

Have you ever had a colonoscopy / had your bowels looked at ?

Have u ever done a qfit test / poo test ?

Just because your gallbladder looks fine and doesn't have stones, doesn't mean it is fine. If your gallbladder's functionality is failing, you will get the same symptoms one gets if they have gallstones. This is what happened to me and I had to have mine removed.

This sounded exactly like me when I had gallstones but you sain the scan was OK.

I haven’t had a colonoscopy or a qfit as initially it was thought to be gallstones. Then it was thought to be kidney stones as I had a couple of UTIs.

I started low carbing after the October episode and have broadly stuck to it since then. I thought that perhaps that had knocked it on the head so was surprised for it to happen again yesterday.

Sounds like gallstones to me. That's what I went through with mine.

What had you eaten yesterday before the pain? It's generally food that brings on the episodes of pain. I found that dairy foods and food high in fat brought on gallstones pain, particularly cheese, ice cream, cream and pizza. A small bit would be ok but a normal portion would cause inflammation.

When I had kidney stones it was Diet Coke, cashews and almonds, anything with soy, chocolate and a few other things I can't remember now.

Yesterday I ate some bread which I rarely do but I haven’t noticed ot being a trigger in the past. I did have some cheese but I often do.

I know that artificial sweeteners can be a trigger for diarrhoea. I get a sense of urgency and feel uncomfortable but feel relief once I’ve been to the bathroom. Yesterday I opened my
bowels (normal form) twice during the episode but didn’t feel any reduction in pain.
