Toothache after abdominal surgery

I had my gallbladder removed a week ago and since then I've had nagging toothache on one side of my mouth. The main issue is that it's super sensitive to anything remotely cold and then is really sore for an or so after anything cold touches it before it fades back to just being sore.

I've been putting off ringing the dentist as I hoped it would get better, it hasn't but it also hasn't got worse. I just tried to eat an ice lolly and the moment it went close to my teeth it was agony so I think I'll have to ring up.

Anyone else experienced this after surgery? No idea if it's a normal "side effect" or if i do really need to see the dentist. I'm not even sure which tooth it is, it feels like it runs across 3 or 4 teeth.

Quite possibly the breathing tube has knocked your tooth, may have taken some of the protective enamel off which is making it sensitive. I’d visit the dentist. Try sensodyne toothpaste on it in the short term.

Are you on any strong painkillers? I used to take tramadol and it really messed my teeth up.

Thanks @Cheekyfuckerry sounds plausible, I use Sensodyne so I'll rub a bit in until I get an appointment.

@TheWristBoundLatexBitch no pain killers at all now. I don't react well to codeine so I took it for one day then went onto paracetamol/ibuprofen but only got a couple of days I've been fine since then.
