John Hopkins ACG score 3

Hello.

I've recently submitted a stool sample to check my calprotectin levels. My results on the NHS app say the following:

John Hopkins adjusted clinical groups system score: 3

I've called my Drs and they have said the don't have the results on their system yet and to call tomorrow.

Does anyone have any idea what this means?
Thanks

It's health analytics software. Lots of stuff online.

What it means for you personally, I couldn't say.

Just curious if you had the answer? I’ve just seen the same on my NHS ap so curious but haven’t had the results of my blood test x

Hiya

It's nothing to do with your results I found out. My stool sample was completely normal.

I believe the score is related to how much you cost the practice. I'd had a few appointments about my IBS, and I guess that's why my score went up to a 3.

Weirdly, the score disappeared from my record after a week or so. I thought I may have seen it by mistake, but perhaps if you have some sort of test done it ups your score so it displays temporarily?

I didn't find much info on google about it, but can confirm it's nothing sinister!

It's basically an odds of hospitalisation & other risk of needing health care, in the next year or 5 years or something like that.
OP is in the middle group (scores 1-5).
Middle isn't really good... OP is someone who has a risk profile for needing more health care in near future than majority of the population.

Most of the score is based on age & sex but also on chronic conditions & maybe recent history of using health care.

Our local ICB is gushing a bit about the JH scores because ICB wants to target a lot of resources at the tiny % of people who use the most health care, to try to keep them out of hospital & getting worse (basically, people at this end of the scores don't actually get better when hospitalised, they tend to get worse, deconditioning).

Weird that yours was shared. It's a tool for lowering risk on average in a group, not for individuals.

I've only ever been to the doctors for IBS....

Have recently had a baby too.

But all tests I've had done have been clear and I'm healthy otherwise.

I did have quite a few visits to the GP about my IBS until they ruled everything else out. Plus with the pregnancy, I guess I have used a lot of their resources.... which may have increased my score.
