Gastritis

I was referred by my GP on 2ww for gastric problems.
Had a gastroscopy this week and I'm going for CT scan later.
One of the findings was gastritis which I understand is basically inflammation. I started 6 weeks ago with nausea and stomach ache, eventually vomiting blood. Now on PPIs the nausea is a bit better but overall stomach pain as bad as ever.

I have a host of health conditions but never had anything gastric, always had a cast iron stomach. I suspect the cause was probably NSAIDs.
My normal diet is pretty healthy and varied and I can't identify anything that makes it seem worse or better. Any tips?

Hi... ive had upper abdominal bloating and discomfort for the last 6 days. Very windy and feeling like I need to poop with on and off nausea.
Just wondered if this sounds like gastritis.

Hope you're doing OK. How did the scan go?

I feel you're pain have had what seemed to be chronic gastritis since january and have never before had any gastric issues or food sensitivity. İ started out on acid reducers which helped but recently dr decided to test for h.pylori infection and it came back positive i am currently undergoing triple therapy which isn't nice for 14 days but praying it cures it as stomach problems just make me so miserable. Goodluck and i advise they do test you also

Interesting this thread popped up as I finally got the test results yesterday (urgent 2ww🙄). No evidence of cancer found so discharged back to GP. I never actually saw a hospital doctor but had endoscopy and CT scan.
Negative for h.pylori. @Hzky3 In a way that's a good result because it's completely treatable and hopefully you'll soon be back to normal.

I'm improving slowly but very frustrated at having to be careful what I eat. I've always been able to eat anything, never get stomach upsets or sickness. I'm avoiding chilli which is something I eat a lot, also anything spicy or acidic, onions, tomatoes, fizzy drinks, alcohol.

@AlwaysFlappable doesn't sound the same as I've had no bowel symptoms but mostly pain and nausea.

That's a ridiculously long time to wait! I'm glad things are slowly improving. I managed to get a GP appointment for this afternoon so, hopefully they can shed some light on things

I suffer with Gastritis too and milk is one of my biggest triggers. I now drink black coffee (espresso) which doesn't set me off at all, but black tea (and with milk) is also a trigger so I totally avoid it. When I have a flare up, I take my prescribed 40mg of Esomeprazole for around a 5 days and then it calms down again. I'm at the stage now where I don't need to take it daily.

@twilighteaser Milk is not something I had considered. In fact I would have expected it to calm the stomach!
The only definite trigger I've identified is chilli. I grow it and love it but I guess something that can sting the fingers is not going to be good for an inflamed stomach.
I feel pretty sure this was triggered by ibuprofen in the first place but it's taking a long time to clear.

@LilacRos ibuprofen can absolutely set it off. Milk actually stimulates acid production, I used to think it'd calm it down but it doesn't.
