Hey
Just wanting a little advise or even tips would be great from anyone in the medical field.

I currently work in a GP surgery however my GPs can't look at me due to confidentiality etc.

Since January I have been quite bad sciatica which travelled down my leg however the past month or so in appear to be more my legs now both sides however more so the left leg. The pain is under my bum cheeks where my thigh would be and just under my knee at the back where ur calf is.

I've been to my own GP they said I've chronic sciatica however if it is sciatica I need different medications as taking naproxen and amtripitline is not working. Some times if I'm stand any more than 20 to 30 mins the pains in my legs are so sore I have to sit down and raise my legs up.

I cant keep going on like this and feel there cud be something more than sciatica Cos surely you don't have it continuously.

Thanks ❤️

You need to see a good physio as well as taking the meds. They will advise exercises to mobilise your spine. Once it’s better, I’ve found Pilates (especially Reformer Pilates) very helpful in preventing reoccurrence. Keeping moving is helpful too. I use a standing desk and find the absolute worst thing (unfortunately) is too much time sitting on the sofa.

I used a TENS machine with great results.

Thanks guys.. I feel just that it ain't sciatica as there no pain in back and hip area. I've been going to physio where I find it very difficult to follow the excerises as it hurts so much. For example... today I've been cleaning, shopping tho I rest in between and it still is no help and no ease. The legs just feels lumb and pins and needles.

It does sound like sciatica. What does physio think it is? Do they think you have a bulging disc?
