I had a blood test last week to make sure my liver and kidneys are working after being put on BP tablets.

The surgery have rung as they need to repeat U & E’s and CRP (??) but to make sure I’m really well hydrated before the test.

Id drunk lots of water prior to the blood tests last week, and I don’t know how much more I need to drink!

How is best to hydrate prior to these blood tests?!

Do they measure this from electrolytes if they've seen from bloods rather than liquid intake?

You can get replacement tablets like when you've been ill and dehydrated or people who work out and sweet loads. I believe mineral water can have a similar effect as it's low minerals that are a sign of dehydration.

I might be wrong, I'm not medical at all.

Just make sure you're normally hydrated rather than dehydrated. Don't take electrolyte replacements as suggested by PP.

My trick is to have a 250ml mug / glass in the toilet and a jug / bottle of water on my desk. Every time I go to the loo I down a glass of water plus swig from bottle throughout the day.

I also drink lots of herbal teas (peppermint, rooibos and various Yogi Tea blends) which really helps increase my fluid intake.
