Cyst or something worse?

Hi,
can anyone help me please? My dentist found a chronic abscess at a routine check up back in January, it had killed the tooth so I had no symptoms. They said root canal would fix it, after the first one the dentist said the infection was too big and he would pack it with medicine and to come back in a couple of weeks to finish it off, the same thing happened another 4 times. I have had 5 root canals since and 2 lots of antibiotics but it’s not gone. He has said it’s a cyst and it might need to be surgically removed at the hospital. I’m back on Friday for another root canal but today I’ve woke up with 2 puss filled sores on my gum by the tooth. I’m just worried it’s something more sinister now if antibiotics and 5 root canals haven’t fixed it? My mouth has been weird for months, it’s horrendously dry and my saliva is so thick and slimey it’s hard to eat or swallow. I put this down to my mouth dealing with the infection but I’m not sure now, I’ve lost a lot of weight but also put this down to being unable to eat properly. I don’t know what I’m asking really but just wondering if any dentists or anyone really has seen this kind of thing before? Why won’t it go away?

If you have puss filled sores I don’t think you should wait until Friday to be seen.
Call your dental surgery to see if there are instructions on an out of hours service or read the link below. It sounds miserable, I hope you get some relief soon, maybe a new set of eyes at an emergency appointment would be able to reassure you about what’s going on. Flowers

How can I access an NHS dentist in an emergency or out of hours?

If you have a regular NHS dentist and need urgent or out-of-hours treatment, contact your dentist for advice. If you do not have a regular NHS dentist, contact NHS 111.
