I’m waiting to see my GP but I’m very surprised by these results, I’m slim , very active and drink about 6 units of alcohol a week.
Everything I’ve read suggests ‘lifestyle changes’ but I don’t think I’ve got any to make.
Has anyone else been in the same boat?

Are you on medications at all- ?? I'm on low dose beta blockers plus statins and mine are at around 44 - which isnt horrendous but slightly higher than normal- I'm also about 3 stone overweight but walk a lot - doctor told me many meds or even overuse of painkillers can give raised levels

A lot of the time genetics can play a huge part in nafld. Could be the case here as your cholesterol is high also. If you think there is not much changes you can make diet wise a magnesuim supplement might help with the cholesterol. Also drinking coffee - can help with the fatty liver. Get advise from your GP and do as much as you can now, I'm 44 with liver cirrhosis, following on from undiagnosed nafld. No symptoms at all, diagnosed during testing for other issues

I've got a high fat diet (& high carb & high fibre & more booze than OP) and ... well no tests have found NAFLD. I'm not sure why I'd get a test that can do that. Low BP, good cholesterol numbers, good BMI, lots exercise, etc.

Some risk factors must not be modifiable for NAFLD. What medications are available?

Thanks all. My GP doesn’t seem concerned but he’s sending me for an ultrasound and then maybe a fibroscan.

My cholesterol ratio is 3.5 so no Statin

I asked about supplements but he said the jury’s out.

Never heard if it so nope

came on to say the same thing.
I have always had slightly raised bilirubin in every blood test I’ve ever done. Doc told me it was likely genetic and nothing to worry about .
I think there is a genetic test you can do though if curious

have a look at Hemochromatosis (Iron Overload) as well.

and mention it.
what did your blood test say regarding iron levels?
