He has it on his face and neck/shoulders; it can be pretty noticeable but is quite controlled at the moment. Doc has prescribed Alphoysyl HC, plus acqueous cream for washing/general moisturising, plus flaxseed oil capsules.

Any other advice/recommendations?

Aloe Vera gel mixed with acqeous cream really helps my psoriasis... Not sure if there are any issues with age etc. but wouldn't have thought so...?

Try to cut out all chemicals ie use paraben and SLS free shampoo, soap etc and consider using a green washing powder like ecover. I have found that mine is much better since switching to all green household cleaning products. Psoriasis is vile, your son has my sympathies.

My dd has just been diagnosed with this also. The doctor has given me Fucidin cream, which is a steroid and antibiotic cream. Seems to have helped although there is a family history of it on her dads side.

What sort of psoriasis is it?
If it is guttate psoriasis then it is worth really keeping on top of any throat infections - particularly tonsillitis as it can be triggered by strep infections. Keeping the skin moist is also important so its good to see aqueous cream being prescribed. there are lots of other emollients if that doesn't help or if it doesn't sit well with his skin. Try and make sure he doesn't scratch it or pick at it as that can provoke the koebner reaction (ie it makes it worse!)

One thing my Mum did was to point out that there was probably someone on every bus with it. As a kid I found that fascinating!
