DD has a very bad cough - not on her chest according to GP - we have some medicine, which inst workign that well.

DD is in her cot and has been coughing/barkign for what feels like an age.

SHe cant have more Calpol until 10.30

Does anyone know of any wonderful little tricks which might ease things for her?

we put a couple of books under one end of ds cot to prop him up when he gets a cogh, doesnt solve the coughing problem but it certainly helps!

make sure he has warm pjs (and grobag) on and open the window slightly so that he can get a little fresh air.

Drink of water before bed (instead of or after his milk) so that he hasn't got that phlegmy (sp) stuff in his throat when he goes to bed(hope that made sense )

oh yeah, the new calpol night also has the same 'helps them sleep' ingredient, unfortunately ds hates them both

good luck x

Medised doesnt seem to work with DD.

Last night had a bad night and used calpol and despite the end of the 4 hour periods when it was wearign off she seemed to sleep much better than the 2 previous nights.

I would not lift the head end of the mattress as this is a possible suffocation risk if your DD is moving around the cot, as my 9 mo DD is , tilt the whole cot instead with books etc.
I would humudify the room with a few drops of Karvol in a bowl of boiling water.

Good luck, hope you all get a good nights sleep
