Just had a text from GP that she has put me on a 2 week fast track referral

I have had some post menopausal bleeding and so was sent for an ultrasound to check my womb lining. Text says it showed some thickening so GP has referred me. But fast track referral?? Is this normal for what she calls 'a small thickening'? I'm feeling slightly alarmed!

Quite normal. I’ve been on the pathway for about 2.5 years for post-menopausal bleeding. No cancer at all found but I can’t get completely clear hysteroscopies (have had seven) so will probably have a hysterectomy.

@RuthW Interesting. This is my second ultrasound plus transvaginal scan for post menopausal bleeding in the last 18 months...no fast track first time, not so lucky this time.

No. You're looking at it completely wrongly. It's good to get the 2 week pathway. You'll know what is actually the problem (if there is one, where there might not be), and then either you'll find out its nothing serious and you won't be worrying. Or, if it is more serious, you're faster to sorting it out. It really isn't an unlucky thing.
