anyone else suffered with this ?
I have cereal. (Fruit and fibre) for breakfast and it doesn’t happen then which makes me think it’s not a gluten intolerance?
I have some constipation but no other symptoms
thanks in advance

Is there a particular sauce that it’s worse with? You could have an intolerance to tomatoes, onions, garlic etc?

Yes I get this with pasta, potatoes, bread - it’s not a gluten thing for me as gluten-free doesn’t make much difference. I just have to eat less as it seems having too much overloads my digestion.

Drinking plenty of water helps and switching to less dense things or eating less, like:

sweet potato instead of white potato

having one slice of bread instead of two

toast is better than bread

very cooked pasta (like lasagne or a reheated pasta dish) is better than a normal once cooked pasta dish

I avoid dense things like scones, bagels - go with a crumpet instead (it’s half holes/air!)

basically eat less or cook the food more as cooking helps break down the food (so does part of the digesting for you)

Dunno if any of that is scientific, it’s just what works for me.

Very good point thank you!
I will keep more of a diary and monitor the ingredients more closely. Thank you

I don't eat much bread. I do eat potatoes though and am fine.
Great suggestions thank you!

My H always gets this and we eat gluten free pasta only - he's fine on bread and cereals.

Coronationstation · 12/05/2023 16:31

I'm similar, I can eat cereals fine, don't eat much bread but I seem better with it than I used to be, but pasta cripples me.

Oh interesting thanks so much for your replies

It could be with how refined it is. Does it feel like trapped wind? Pasta does digest really fast

AceofPentacles · 12/05/2023 18:50

Do you have cheese on it? I thought I was gluten intolerant as pasta and pizza caused havoc but it turned out to be that it was lactose in the cheese toppings

BIWI · 12/05/2023 18:53

Wheat intolerance?
