Minor injuries unit for this?

Hi, I stupidly slipped off the doorstep on Monday and went over on my ankle. It was incredibly painful, but I'd just found out about the death of someone close and had to go. I've done ice packs, raising it, compression socks, etc, but haven't been able to rest it as much as I probably should have. The swelling and bruising have gotten worse, and although walking isn't as bad, it's painful to walk upstairs or if I have to flex my foot in any way.
Do I need to go to minor injuries in the morning or just rest more and strap it up? I don't want to waste their time over a sprain, but it doesn't look great!
Sorry for the horrible foot picture (I hate feet!) .
TIA

Definitely go & get it checked.

Your not wasting their time if it turns out to be a sprain. It still needs examining and xraying, it looks pretty swollen/bruised

Oh that looks sore OP, I'd say it needs looking at. I'm sorry for your loss too Flowers

Yes it looks very swollen, I’d get that checked.

I broke my ankle last summer and i had that strange bruising underneath the ankle.. could be a hairline fracture - better get it x-rayed

Hi, I went to the minor injuries unit this morning and was in and out in less than an hour! Xray showed no break, thankfully, but severely stretched ligaments. Got to continue to ice and elevate, and if it gets any worse, then physio. Thanks for replies 🙂
