Sunburn blister on foot but need to wear shoes. Pic attached

On the last day of an extended holiday I must have sunburnt my foot. I'm always so careful applying suncream but obviously I missed the top of my foot while I was waiting around for my transfer.

I'm going to a concert tonight so will need to wear shoes. I've read that you're not supposed to burst blisters and I think that would make it even more sore.

Any ideas how I can protect it from footwear rubbing later?

Ouch that looks sore!! I think all you can do is put one of those Compeed blister plasters on top of it. They draw out the moisture so there shouldn't be as much pressure and rubbing. If you get the ones meant for your heel that should be big enough.

Do you have any ballet flats? Maybe that would leave it open enough? Or even heels that have a low front (anything that shows toe cleavage I would think would be low enough)?

Flip flops?

Oblomov23 · 09/05/2023 16:52

Ouch. I agree with compeed, but I'd pop it with a sterilised sewing needle first.

Where is the rest of the sunburn? That doesn’t look like a sunburn blister to me.

TheChosenTwo · 09/05/2023 16:56

I always pop blisters although I’ve never had one from sunburn.
are you sure it’s a sunburn blister? The rest of your foot doesn’t look red or angry, I’ve seen sunburn blisters before and it’s usually in the middle of bright flaming red looking skin.

Thank you for the replies. I covered it with a dressing in case it burst while I was out and wore flip flops. Great fun with the torrential rain we had last night.

I figured it was sunburn as I'd been in hot sun/partial shade but no, the rest of my foot doesn't seem burnt, it was just red in that area and the blister had appeared next morning.

What could it be if it's not sunburn? It doesn't have the intense itching like a mosquito bite would.

What do you think it could be @HadalyEve, @TheChosenTwo ?

A bite perhaps ?

I think it would itch if it was a bite but it's just sore.

A reaction to a poisonous plant?

TheChosenTwo · 10/05/2023 17:03

No idea other than a bite really but probably not as there’s no itching, and no sign of a bite mark. Strange but I definitely don’t think it’s a bite.
And you’d know if it was from something rubbing. It’s a mystery 😂

I showed it to a pharmacist earlier and he thought looked like a burn but to leave it alone - don't pop it and keep it covered in case it bursts he said.

I will cover it if I need to go anywhere it might burst and I can't deal with it straight away. The fluid inside is starting to look bit yellow and it feels more sore than when it first appeared.
