Dont know what it is.....started Saturday and has not got any worse.....could it be an allergic reaction or Chicken Pox???

Spots are very red and raised, but dont seem itchy for her.

Any advice??

Time will tell & quickly! Does she have fever? Loss of appetite?

I'd have thought chicken pox would have spread more by now...

IME chicken pox spots look kind of blistery, sort of, pus-filled (sorry!).

Doesn't sound like pox to me! Could they be bites of some sort?

No, seems to be fine. I suppose you are right in that time will tell!! Can the spots be localised with CP or do you always end up covered iyswim??

Not sure about bites, although in saying that we were all out in the garden last week for the first time in ages. Perhaps she has been bitten by something in the garden??

CP spots tend to get watery & blistery after a few days, not at the beginning. Don't worry! CP is uncomfortable but not "serious" (usually). Treat the symptoms as they appear, IMO.

Both mine have had slap cheek virus- starts with an inflamed looking rash over cheeks and spreads to nose and ears, usually very red, raised small spots but not itchy. It can also spread to legs and arms but usually worse on face.

It is harmless and will fade within a few days to a week. Heat/cold etc can make it look more inflamed.

it is very common at this time of year and often begins with a temperature/cold or cough but may not have.

Thanks everyone!! Will see how she gets on in the next few days!!

Karen999 - DS has just had Chicken Pox and DD has got it currently. DS wasn't very itchy and didn't have that many spots - about 60-70 but DD is covered 200+ and itching like mad so I tried Porridge Oats in a sock in the bath and works like a treat along with Calamine Lotion in Aqueous cream. The spots were/are red and after a few days start to get bigger/more raised and then start to blister. DS had hideous temperature and appetite went in the days before the spots appeared as soon as spots arrived he ate like a horse and temperature went back down. Book an appointment and see the Doctor who will conform or deny

Yes porridge oats is good stuff! Calamine lotion too & eventually an antihistimine for the itching but check with chemist/gp.
