Why am i feeling so awful around ovulation time?

I had a laproscopy just before christmas to remove a chocolate cyst.
I have endometriosis as well and i am an erractic ovulator.
For the last two cycles i have been feeling very sick, really hormonal and a constant headache between day 12(ish)and day 15.
Does this mean i am ovulating?
Just feel so rough at the moment.
If it is because i'm ovulating the last thing i feel like is trying for dc #2.How ironic.
Does anybody have any advice?
I'm seeing my surgeon who did the laproscopy at the end of the month.

sometimes when i ovulated i felt like i was suffering morning sickness. all sympathies.

I always get a cluster of PMS-type symptoms around ovulation (I read in a women's health book that it is a common thing for PMS sufferers). It lasts a day or two and then I am fine for another week. It's annoying and strange and it's def got worse as I have got older. I must be one of the few women positively longing for the menopause. Sorry you're suffering though - it's hell.

Thats how i feel but i know i'm not pg-mores the pitty.

How on earth can we baby dance if i feel this crappy.I'm not a baby when it comes to pain and that but having sex is the LAST thing on my mind.
How will i ever concieve #2?

I suppose the great news is i may be ovulating.Which i don't always do.

Try treating your hormonal issues and you may feel a bit more rampant. Over the last year I have gradually improved my PMS from two weeks of raving mad woman complete with red rage shouty crackers, to 3 or 4 days of feeling a bit low and snappy. The things I have done are: switch to soya milk on my cereal and eat less cheese (still have normal milk in tea and coffee), start taking evening primrose oil throughout the month religiously, ditto St John's Wort (although best not take this if you are bd'ing, have heard agnus castus is good for hormones though), drink loads of water (helps with headaches). It's been a long road but utterly worth it, I literally have 1/3 more life than I used to.

Thanks Wilbur will give them a try-anything is worth a go at the moment.
I already take Pregnacare with the omega 3 supplement so i will rattle like a shaker with all the extra pills!
Soya milk-eeerrrggghhh tried it a while back but will give it another go!
Thank you x

Yes, the soya takes getting used to, although I mostly have muesli in the mornings and it's not so bad on that as it's a bit nutty tasting too. And I def rattle with pills as I also take vit c, a vit b complex, and a calcium/magnesium supplement. The other things I swear by, if you have the time and cash is accupuncture. When I am able to go once every couple of months, that really helps too.

nobodysfool · 17/02/2008 19:58

I have been trying to find a accupuncurist who specialises in fertility in my area but haven't been able to find one.
Where is the best place to buy the pills?Holland and Barrett?

I get all my stuff online from Victoria Health (they have a club that if you join you get 10% off which works out a good deal for me with my rattling ) but Holland and Barrett is good too and they often have good offers. Do buy a good brand though, like Solgar or similar, as some of the cheaper ones don't have the dose that will really help.

I think most accupuncturists would be able to help with fertility - I originally went to mine for allergies and asthma, but had just come off the pill to try for ds1 and was pregnant within about 10 seconds.

blimey!
Sorry to ask such stupid questions but what strength pills should i be looking for?I take it they are ok when TTC.

Acupuncture helped regulate my AF - not a fertility specialist, just an ordinary wellbeing type clinic with resident acupuncturist

I als get hormone related migrainey headaches and can sympathise - sometimes before or after AF but recently also around ovulation - so about every fortnight

I also think loads of water helps, I also have soya milk on cereal and take a multivitamin and omega 3 oils daily, avoid too much wheat and dairy

I have endometriosis too but since cutting out wheat esp around AF I have felt so much better.

HTH, god luck in seeing consultant again

nobodysfool · 17/02/2008 21:14

Thanks for the advice freyedknot. Will look into the wheat and dairy thing.
