Exercise Bikes - what are they good for?

Obviously they're good for cardio-vascular exercise, and your leg muscles, but what I really want to know is would regular exercise biking have a beneficial effect on my behind?

Reason I ask is that dp has got one going spare

I hold my hands up as a non expert, but I thought that maybe if you didn't sit on them perhaps they would work your butt a little more.

I was also slightly tempted to put
hoooo absolutely nothing

but it is a quite work day, so please excuse me.

My spelling is appalling. I need to preview messages more.
I thought the exercise where you are on all fours and pump your cocked leg into the air repeatedly was a bottom pert-ener.

Exercise bikes can be used to give an excellent cardio vascular workout and tone all of the major muscle groups. Easy to use and impact free, they can make a significant contribution to weight loss and general fitness if used regularly.

Glute crunches (works your glutes and tops of your hamstrings):

Start on all fours on the floor, then lower your forearms and your palms so they’re touching the floor. Slowly extend your right leg straight out behind you (you can wear light ankle weights if you wish), then bend it so your right thigh is parallel to the floor and the sole of your right foot is facing the ceiling (your right leg should be in a right angle behind you). Lifting from the hamstring, slowly press your right foot up towards the ceiling, then gently lower to the starting position. Avoid arching or rounding your back while doing this move. If you’re in the gym, you can use the glute machine to work these muscles. Grin mental picture of all of you trying this one...lol
