I hiope someone wise can help...we saw GP on Monday he wasn't too worried, she is slightly asthmatic so he said this had made a viral infection worse. She hasn't been to nusrery all week, off colour, not eating much and listless/pale but seemed to be getting better, then coughed up alot of yellowy green phlegm this morning. I'm reluctant to take her to urgent care centre but don't want to risk leaving it til Mon if she needs ABs. NHS direct isn't taking calls today, too busy, emergencies only so can't ask them!

I would take her in because a chest infection can quickly progress to pneumonia in a little one espcially if she is asthmatic. Better bother a doctor for a chest infection than end up in hospital with breathing difficulties. Good luck and hope your daughter gets better very soon x

I know you're both right - the problem is our urgent care centre is only taking emergencies today as they're so busy, they referred us to NHS direct who are also too busy to talk to non emergancy cases - is catch 22 - she may end up being an emergancy if I don't take her in but as she's not yet I can't
