Dh always tired

Dh is 55, overweight, t2 diabetic and high blood pressure both well controlled by medication.
He is always knackered, it seems much worse recently. He falls asleep on the sofa every evening and goes to bed around 9.30, sleeps soundly until 7 and then talks about how he can't wait for the weekend for a lie in (although most weekends are too busy for one). He will always nap weekend afternoons too.
I don't think he has sleep apneoa (unless been drinking heavily) as he's often silent or snoring gently. Doesn't drink during the week.
I'm beginning to think he should see a gp? He has blood tests because of the diabetes, I'm not sure when the next one is.

how overweight is he? what's his diet like? drink any water? do any exercise?
Bad food, dehydration and no exercise make me feel worse than when I'm run off my feet busy and eating well!

Two people in my family had issues with diabetes 2, changed their diet by reducing refined carbohydrates.
They good their diabetes reversed, because their blood sugar levels were less spiked.
If you try and eat a lot less carbohydrates to start with and then reintroduced unrefined carbs. Ie wholegrains.

There are some books on this.
It is important to have carbohydrates, but reduce the intake and have unrefined really helped them.

Both of you give excellent advice which I follow and thus am fit and well.
He prefers to live how he likes and medicate. Annoying, but I realised a long time ago there's no changing him.
He drinks a lot of water (mostly with sugar free squash added), takes no exercise and loves carbs.

Reading that, its obviously no wonder he's not feeling his best, my concern is that he seems far more tired than 6 months ago (been diabetic for over 20yrs)

Try and get him to the GP, OP. Sounds like it could be his diet but it might not be.

Get your DH to the GP, my DH had put on a bit of weight and was the heaviest he had been for years and he kept falling asleep and I put it down to his weight.

Turns out he had lung cancer- not to scare you but get him to the doctor
