Back pain over a week- wore when sitting

I pulled my back nearly 5 years ago (before having 2 children) and it has never really been right since

From time to time I would pull it, and it would hurr for a few days then get better (would take pain killers )

Since a week last Sunday I have been suffering with severe back pain, especially when sitting in tjr car. I was literally cryinf today with the pain. When i got home I had to lie on the floor for about 10 mins and stretch it out, it was then better for a while (pain still there but nowhere near as bad) I can walk but sometimes I feel like Mt back will give way ,although the pain is at its least when walking/ standing

I'm concerned about how long this is lasting, having to look after 2 young chidlren is a real struggle as I can barley bend down to change by baby

Could it possible be a slipped disc? I don't want to waste doctors time for 'back pain '

I've also been having some pain in my legs
Pain killers also don't seem to be doing much

I would see your GP, to be honest. It’s possibly a prolapsed disc causing sciatica. They could give you stronger painkillers. Core strength exercises should help if that’s what it is. I was referred and did a six-week physio course at my local hospital. Everyone there had back problems.

With leg pain you should definitely see your GP.

I would not see my GP at this stage personally, I often get back pain.

What painkillers are you taking?
What exercises are you doing?
What things that make it worse have you stopped doing?

My approach - but only you know what is right for you and the NHS page is here https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/back-pain/ where it says when to see a GP and does make reference to it stopping you doing everyday activities which is the level you are at - would be to do a week of consistent ibuprofen, exercises, self care and see how it goes.

Have you never gone to an osteopath or physio about it?

Sorry for the delay in responding, looking after 2 young children made me forget I even posted this!

Back pain seems even worse, I definitely think it's a trapped nerve , possibly from a slipped disc? I am taking naproxen and paracetamol. My mum have me so co codamol but this made me constipated so I was even in a worse state!!

I have tried many different exercises which I've found online, these relieve the pain temporarily, but it's not long till ot appears again. I literally cannot sit down for more rhan a few minutes, unable to sit in the car.

I am back to work in a few weeks ans don't know how this will be possible if km still in this much agony 😩 definitely think I need to see someone about it now. @Garman @Localher0 @TrueScrumptious @carriedout

Of course you need to see someone about it, nobody here can diagnose you.
