Hi I'm on Bisoprolol for Sinus tachycardia. I can't remember them making me itchy but they do make me feel very tired.

Starrr123 · 17/04/2023 22:08

@TSJ19 i wonder if its them
or something else 😩😩 xx i dont know if i should stop them and see and then go back on them? X

Sounds like an allergy to them. What does it say in the leaflet, any side effects listed like yours?

YankeeDad · 18/04/2023 00:27

At a minimum I would suggest to visit the pharmacy, ask to speak with the pharmacist, and ask for his view.

TSJ19 · 18/04/2023 06:31

Is it listed as a side effect?

Starrr123 · 18/04/2023 10:38

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor @TSJ19 it says 1in 1000
skin reaction such as itching , rashes.
so ive rang my gp and said i need to speak to someone to know whether to stop or not? They have helped my hr as it was nearly 200 when standing. But this rash on face and itch that no antihistamines help is annoying me x

That's good its helping your heartrate. That must of made you feel quite unwell being 200 when standing. Bisoprolol does keep my heartrate lower but i still have off days and it makes me feel very tired.

NothingTraLaLa · 18/04/2023 11:08

I had the same following Covid. The cardiologist put me on a low dose of Nebivolol and I’ve had no issues with it (aside from a small amount of weight gain, but I have put that down to my body no longer thinking that I am in the gym 24/7). I would like to see if I can come off it soon, though, to see if I can now get by without it.

Crikeyalmighty · 18/04/2023 21:23

I'm on Bisoprolol 2.5 a day- it has helped my blood pressure but lowered my HR to less than 50 'a lot' of the time I'm sitting. I also get a burning face some of the time but no rash- I have tried to come off by reducing and then reducing some more to the level I may as well just lick the tablet) been on them 5 months) and I then get horrendous headaches , so have ended up taking it again- it's def got some odd side effects on some people- it also makes me really bone shatteringly fatigued post 8pm with bleary eyes too

yeahscience · 18/04/2023 22:41

I've had a high heart rate and Hugh blood pressure since Covid, brushed off along with other symptoms for the last year as just long Covid, and not given any medication to help control. I had a very unexpected heart attack 5 weeks ago (I'm 35) due to acute coronary artery disease, likely caused by Covid. I'm now on bisoprolol, thankfully no negative side effects - but please don't stop them without seeing a GP!

Starrr123 · 18/04/2023 23:19

@Crikeyalmighty oo :( its soo rubbish! I was the same with amitriptyline! Im very slowly trying to come off it!
i would try iboprofen lysine! Helps with bad headaches!
i get the burning feeling , and then super red cheeks. And also my arms are burny! I shall see what happens!
i was abit tired the first week then i was ok. So it does effect everyone differently. As the dr said being so tired is a very common side effect x

@yeahscience im soo sorry to hear that :( thats awful :(
i hope ur ok x

I finally spoke to a gp today, he said the only way we will know is by stopping the medication. And trying another, so i shall see! Im upset as its helped my hr alot! Always something when taking medication x
