Dropped chopping board on foot - please tell me a break isn't likely

Hi All,

So when I was tidying up the kitchen I dropped the chopping board and it hit the top of my foot - my god did it hurt!

I'll try and attach a picture of it straight after (about 6pm) I've iced it for 20mins and now have a compression sock on it...
I can walk normally, wiggle and scrunch up toes and stand on tip toes with no pain.

I'm so annoyed as I'm off on a hen do at the weekend and really looking forward to a weekend of dancing and letting my hair down - anyone medical got any advise?

Tbh, if you have full movement without pain, it's more likely to be a soft tissue injury. See if it gets worse overnight.

I did this exact sane thing about 6 months ago! It looked remarkably similar, and was bruised and sore for a bit but definitely no broken bones. Rest, ice, elevate. You'll be grand.

Thank you!! I'm such a Wally 🙈🙈 I can deal with a bruise but just can't cope with a broken bone as I'm a single parent and we have to drive to school as it's too far to walk.

Is a compression sock a good idea at this point or not do we know? I'm trying my best to reduce the swelling as much as possible.

When you guys did yours did it feel stiff in the mornings after being in bed all night?

I've broken one toe three times now. I know when it's broken as if I try to move it in one particular direction its crippling pain and it just doesn't move.

You therefore sound like you've got away with it.

(You'd have thought I'd have learnt by now not to break it!)
