At the age of nine my daughter got glandula fever. It layed her up for months. She has been cleared of it now for 2 years but looks like the symptoms have returned again. Does anyone know if it can return.

Yes AD, I had it when I was 19 and they said the virus lurks in your system for 5 years and would come back with stress/fatigue or sometimes other illness. You have to go 5 years without an attack to be really clear. Sorry for your dd

My sister got it when in university in the mid 80's. She was very ill and still has bouts of fatigue. She developed coeliac disease in her thirties and has been told that this can happen following glandular fever. She has also been told that she can never give blood.

This all sounds very extreme. Sorry.

Yup same as PhD it does come back slightly for at least a few years after the first instance. I had it aged 15 I think and it took me about 3 weeks to shake plus bought on lots of other things.

I had it when I was 17 and it's only been the last couple of years that I've felt rid of it, I'm now 30.
Bless her, it truly is awful
