Moretons neuroma?

I woke up this morning with a really sore foot, and on googling it seems like it may be a Morton's neuroma. It is a really tender sore spot on the underneath of my foot, between the third and fourth toe level with the ball of the foot. I already live in orthopaedic trainers because I have problems with my Achilles tendon and planter fasciitis. I'm so depressed about this because I have been really trying to be more active and now this is super painful. Has anyone had this? Is there anything I can do? Is there anything else that it could be since it came on so suddenly? Thanks.

I should add that when I stand on my foot, it feels as if I have a drawing pin or a piece of Lego in my shoe, almost as if I am walking on a marble.

I had this. Ended up having a cortisone injection which didn’t really help. I had plantar fasciitis at the same time (yay) and what helped was wearing supportive wide shoes. MN are famous for never really going away but the only time now mine ever bothers me is if I wear narrow shoes.

Make an appointment to see a podiatrist. They may provide orthotics with a met dome which might help to alleviate the pain. The dome spreads the metatarsal bones and eases the pressure.

Wear wide shoes and nothing narrow or tight. You can get a metatarsal dome that helps to make the space between the metatarsals bigger. I've had three and I ended up having cortisone injections and eventually having surgery to have them removed. If you can get in to see a Podiatrist they may be able to make some insoles that could also help. My MNs were masking another issue with my feet so it's better if you get a firm diagnosis

Thanks I literally only ever wear wide supportive shoes, I buy special expensive trainers. I've always found NHS podiatrists useless and they won't supply insoles anymore. Such a bummer. And painful when walking my dogs!

NHS podiatrists only treat high risk patients (no funding for anything else). You'd have to see a private one. There are plenty who specialise in biomechanics.
