Is this normal vertigo?

First for complete disclosure, I have ms which obvs brings a lot of symptoms/problems into play, among which I have bouts of vertigo where the room moves around and I feel a bit sick. Normal, I guess, not unexpected.

However, I do get a weird thing, or I think it is, where I am pushed to one side or the other, nothing is going round but me. I have tried to walk across a room but found myself stepping to the left, for instance and to get where I want I have had to walk sideways.

Just now I was sitting at the kitchen table, reading MN, when I was pushed to the right. It was like gravity had switched direction, if I hadn't been sitting I might even have fallen. Instead, my upper body just leaned and leaned to the right until my head rested on my arm which was firmly on the table. I stayed there for a little while and then sat up again, nonetheworse for it. (Though now, about 5 mins later I feel some pressure in the top of my head.)

I have had this happen, and dh has had to push me back up after, this time I could do it myself.

Is this normal for vertigo too? I've only just had my Annual Audience with my neurologist so won't be seeing him again for nearly a year. I forgot to ask him about vertigo as I spoke to him about it a few years ago (can't really remember what he said), and forgot to mention it again this time, as I'd only just started developing the hug and we talked mainly about that.

I'd be grateful if anyone knows about this and can tell me whether it's normal for vertigo.
