2 Wednesdays ago he started complaining of feeling dizzy. Then he was sick. So I kept him off school for the day. last Wednesday morning he started saying he felt dizzy again, but seemed to be ok to eat his breakfast and charge around with his brother, so I sent him to school.
Today, same thing, says he is dizzy, has refused to eat his breakfast, so i sent him to bed. However I can hear him playing with toys. So I think this is all because he has maths on a Wednesday. he used to love maths and at school in Scotland was top of his group. Here he really struggles and is int eh bottom group, none of it is stuff he has done before. If we were in Scotland he would be in P5, here he is yr5, which I think is the same as P6 in Scotland. He needs to go to school, I can't have this every wednesday

What I would do is send him to bed for the day! Whenever mine are off school they have to stay in bed until at least after lunch then maybe they can sit and read or maybe watch a bit of tv. It puts them off skiving.
Is there anything that can be done to help him at school though? remedial classes, or extra work to bring home? It seems very sad, when you say he lvoed it before.

Have you chatted to his teacher about why he's not liking maths?

I will need to call DH and tell him I cna't go to the ball tonight! great, first night out in over a year and DS1 decides to be ill!
Sorry that sounds really selfish, it's just I don't actually think he is ill!

I am going to ask the head teacher about extra help for him, see what she says, i would ask his class teacher, but he seems to ahve a problem understanding me and I sometimes get the feeling he hasn't really heard what I have said.
I have sent him to bed, with a dose of calpol for his headache, and have taken PS2 and tv out of room

No, they were going to the school disco with their friends then both staying over at one of their houses. Can't send him to disco or friends house if he's been ill can I?

Can't you take him in for the afternoon and then send him to the disco?
