Keep walking into doors and cupboards

Is this normal? My entire forehead is covered in bruises and I do it without even realising the door or cupboard is there. I actually walked into the door frame the other day.

Could this be caused by tiredness from two young children?

I used to do that a lot. In my case it was poor proprioception. Pilates has mostly fixed it.

I could see that exhaustion could make you make that sort of mistake.

It could well be tiredness. Tiredness affects reaction time, coordination and make you really clumsy in my experience. Other than tired out and bumping into things are you ok otherwise? Any headache, neck pain, numbness/tingling anywhere? Are you taking any different medication or different doses of anything you are normally on.

I definitely lurch about when I’m really tired but I’m very clumsy at the best of times.

Yes - keep getting neck pain and pins and needles occasionally in my arms and hands.

I'm terrified I'm going to knock myself out. This feels very common

I do this but I'm not as bad as when I used to be premenstrual which amped it up considerably.

I'd go to the docs and ask them to check your bloods. Tiredness could make you clumsier but pins and needles etc could be something like anaemia, b12 deficiency, worth just getting looked it?

My daughter is being assessed for MS. I used to tease her how clumsy she was - I said she couldn't walk from one end of the room to the other without bumping in to something. She also had vertigo and gets tired quickly.
But what brought us to A&E was the tingling in her right arm and leg and then numbness - which was probably causing the clumsiness and then it escalated.
Don't brush things aside. If you think somethings not right get it checked. Hopefully it is something like vitamin defiency which will be remedied.

Me too!

You've just reminded me that PMT would make my bumping into things a lot worse and every prang I had in the car I was hormonal.

Jules912 · 22/03/2023 13:53

I do. In my case I'm pretty sure it's part of my long covid but tiredness definitely makes it worse.

Is your eyesight ok? Might it be the beginning of cataracts?

Add thyroid function to the blood test request too! I couldn’t walk straight and banged into everything when I had an undiagnosed thyroid issue and again when B12 deficient.

megletthesecond · 22/03/2023 14:08

I have lots of knocks when I'm tired. I feel OK the odd occasion I've slept.
