Had to give up driving temporarily- anyone else?

So after a nasty seizure while driving. I've had to give up my license for a year...

I feel like I've lost my independence but I'm doing fine with just buses and trains - although I live in the SW and it's hardwork.

Has anyone else had this? How do you cope? Any tips? I think I'll need to find another job.

My number 1 thing is not relying on lifts as I'm absolutely humiliated by not being able to drive 😳 it's just SO embarrassing!

Worse still, I have a DC. So he's likely to suffer 😔

Flowers

I couldn't drive for a month, that was bad enough!

Can you share lifts with people and when it's your turn pay for an Uber/taxi?

@RandomMess I could do, but I just don't want to be a burden on anyone :(

You don't realise what freedom is until its taken away from you....

It's for 12 months, you are offering to do your turn (via cab) that's being environmentally friendly not being a burden!

I hear you. I can't drive for the next month (just had hysterectomy) and feel like I've lost a limb. Nowhere in walking distance either. Been home for a week and the cabin fever is real. I hate having to ask others to get things for me to.
