She came home from school v tired and warm. She slept and I gave her calpol as she got quite upset and hot although temp was 35.4

Shes now going mad with itchy bum and all I can think is could it be worms?

Please say no as just the thought is making me feel quite ill

I had worms a few times when we were little and I never remember it causing a risen temp.

Perhaps the two aren't connected or perhaps I'm wrong about not getting a temp with it.

She seems ok now.I will keep eye on her.

It is worms. She was terrible at the same time last night and I looked with the lamp held near her bum. They are awful.I went and got ovex for all of us and we ttok staright away. She cried from teatime to midnight last night with the sore bum but tonight seems better though they are still there and I just checked her poo and yuk yuk yuk, there too.

I keep checking myself as I am itchy but cant see anything and feel a another Gillian McKeith poo inspection coming on......

I also have a 10 week old son and am off to docs with him in morning but I have been checking and so far he looks ok.Will doc be able to give him anything?

(It makes me feel so dirty though I am like Monica off Friends and alwyas cleaning..)

Threadworms are really really common - it's not really anything to do with how clean you are, kids pick them up from one another, putting fingers in their mouth etc. It's just one of those things that children get, honestly, it's not a big deal although I know it seems a bit yukky but try not to stress! You can buy this banana flavoured liquid called Ovex or something similar from the chemists - my DD's will take it no proble, everyone in the family needs to take it and then treat again two weeks later. In the meantime damp dust everywhere, sheets on a hot wash, and cut your DD's nails short in case she is scratching, also have here wear tightish pyjamas or pants at night. Worms shouldn't cause a fever though - has she some other infection going on? If the skin is broken and sore from scratching she might need some cream to soothe it.

Oh sorry I see you already got Ovex well there you are - yes everyone in the family should be treated including you. I remember having them as a kid and having to take this vile raspberry flavoured stuff - the Ovex is much nicer!
