Sensitivity after root canal

I had the 2nd part of my root canal done yesterday afternoon in my first molar, although I’m not really in pain the tooth does feel sensitive if i touch it or if i drink something hot/cold.
After the 1st part which I had 2 weeks ago I also had the sensitivity which didn’t go away at all, I was hoping after the proper filling was put in that it would help with this. I had antibiotics after the first appointment.
As I am very scared of the dentist and it took me alot to pluck up the courage to go (pain from infection in chipped tooth) and has cost alot of money, just wondering if anyone has had sensitivity like this and it settled down?

TIA

I had root canal just over 3 hrs ago. I remember it feeling quite uncomfortable for a while, I had a 2nd appointment for fit the crown and it was tender still after a while so I went back. I was told I needed it removed, then covid happened so the appointment was cancelled and it’s still there now! It obviously settled down, sometimes I get tenderness there for a day or 2 , especially if I eat something tough (crusty bread is the worst!)

I also wanted to add I was like you and hate the dentist. I was terrified of needing it removed and having a big gap but was so concerned by the soreness/sensitivity of it too. I think I may have even posted here myself at that time! Try not to touch it and leave it to settle down, it’s been prodded and poked quite a lot so bound to be like this initially x

Depending on where the root canal is there can be slight physical damage such bruising from the dentist holding your mouth open etc, that takes a day or two to health. See how it goes over the next few hours but it isn't necessarily a problem
