Heart concern

I've been quite poorly with a chest infection, had an ambulance out a few days ago due to chest pain (111 called them).
When they came out I had an ECG and all the over observations, they said the ECG didn't show a heart attack but showed a pre longed QT.
But obviously couldn't be 100% on heart attack until blood tests.
They did quite a few ECGs in the ambulance as had to wait a couple of hours outside the hospital due to majors being rammed.
Had spray under tounge, also had an asprin and morphine.

Anyway in hospital had more ECGs done, had blood tests (which came back fine other then infection markers).
Was told that ECGs did not indicate heart attack and was told I could go home.

I wished I would of asked more about what the ambulance staff had said about pre longed QT.
But was so tired (been there all night with no sleep) and they where so busy.
Would the doctor have mentioned it if they were concerned?

I will book an GP appointment to ask and maybe get checked if they feel is needed though.

I had something very similar which caused major anxiety, I booked an appointment with GP who reassured me and they even spoke to cardiologist and then called me back to explain

That’s prolonged QT/long WT syndrome, you can read about it online - I would ask for a cardiology referral just to talk it through. Glad you’re ok

Book into your GP and ask what your notes said from ambo and the ED. I personally would be asking for a cardiology referral.

Stupid autocorrect. Ignore WT, I wrote QT

Personally I would trust A&E over a paramedic's interpretation of a complex ECG. There will have been senior Drs & potentially even cardiologists consulted about difficult ECGs.
I have the upmost respect for paramedics and their clinical skills are amazing but not all are trained in unusual ECG interpretation

Good idea to speak to your GP as if there is Long QT on your ECG's you will need referring to cardiology. It won't be related to your chest pain, but as an incidental finding does need investigating.

Thank you all, rather be safe then sorry so I will ask the gp at my appointment.
