High blood pressure was identified with my mother a few years ago. She's on medication for it. The GP likes to monitor the blood pressure regularly with a 24 hour blood pressure monitor. She got that done last year.
Back in January she got a call for the blood pressure monitoring and she made an appointment. But then she cancelled the appointment the day before. She did have a legitimate excuse for cancelling. Now, she is refusing to book in for another appointment.
I presume this can't be very good. I presume there is a legitimate reason for the GP to monitor it yearly. Maybe to control the medication or something. When I was encouraging my mother too book, she got angry at me saying the blood pressure is sorted with her medicine and there's no need for a monitor.
I think she's going senile and she's getting harder to reason with.
Would it be bad to neglect this or will I keep reminding her to make an appointment or will the GP office phone her in time?
