Deviated septum - corrective surgery?

I was born with a cleft lip and as a result have a deviated septum and can only breathe out of one nostril. I’ve been offered corrective surgery but am nervous about the recovery. Has anyone had this done who could give me some insight?

I‘n 44 if that makes any difference.

Hi OP I’ve had this, my nose looked straight but the surgeon said my septum was quite deviated, probably due to past trauma but I can’t remember any.
I had it done because the skin inside was excoriated and kept getting nose bleeds.
it was a day case under a GA and I took a long weekend to get over the anaesthetic
I had a splint in my nostril for a week or two. The only painful thing was when she took it out but only lasted a minute.

My DD has had this done recently, it was a day case. Swift recovery and she's able to breathe properly again! The worst bit was the crap that kept coming out of her nose 🤢

Are you me? I'm also 44 with deviated septum due to cleft lip. I was offered surgery about 15 years ago and decided not to go ahead as I lived alone and I couldn't stand the thought of my mum coming to look after me , I was told I would have to stay indoors for 14 days post surgery.
I was offered it because of hearing problems on that side, they thought it might clear the plumbing between nose and ear. I was offered a nose job at the same time too!
