Are all these things connected?

I haven’t been feeling right for a while to be honest and not sure if these random things are connected. I will be seeing a GP but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts/experience.

My digestive system is all over the place and has been for months. Mainly upper gastric, so upper left abdomen pain and behind sternum pain which is fleeting but relieved by the excessive burping that has started. The burping is very frequent, often sort of silent burping where I feel the air in my chest before it goes into my mouth (no one would know) but it’s worse when hungry, just after eating and when I change position (eg getting up in the morning out of bed or off the sofa from sitting to standing.) No rapid weight loss, acid reflux or nausea/vomiting or real pain. I’ve had mild morning diarrhoea since I was in my teens (I know, I know) and have a diagnosis of hypermobility syndrome. I suspect I also have POTS.

I’ve also developed mild pustular rosacea over the last year. Mainly on my nose and to the sides on my cheeks. It’s responded well to Azaylic acid but is still there. I’ve had dry eyes and itchy skin around my eyes which started since covid along with itchy ear canals. My GP didn’t autoimmune screen at this time which was fine, as was full set of MOT bloods. I’ve also had a chest X-ray recently which was fine.

Are these things all related? I had vaginal thrush this week too.. falling apart! I’m 38, female and overweight.

Thanks so much!

Well it certainly could be all related.

As I’m sure you know, hypermobilty can mean digestion and movement of food through the body can be slower & make you feel sluggish.

But thrush can mean your body’s immune system and natural flora is unbalanced so maybe look at working on that and look at what you’re eating and make tweaks to boost your immune system and bring it back to a more stable plateau.

You could always go back to the GP and ask for autoimmune screening if you
feel it might help.

Thanks so much for your reply. I got some probiotics today and I’m going to very careful with my diet and see if that helps calm everything down. Fingers crossed!
