Weird sensations and tripping, any advice?

Since Christmas I’ve been getting tingling and pins and needles in my left hand and foot. Then about 2 weeks ago over a period of a few days I tripped up the stairs at home a couple of times, then tripped coming out of the shower. It’s as if my feet weren’t obeying my brain! I tripped again last week on the flat pavement, my foot didn’t lift up high enough when I took a step.

Saw the GP, full bloods, I’m anaemic which could explain the tingling. She also spoke to neurology to rule out MS, they said MS was unlikely and to monitor for the next 6 weeks, if symptoms don’t improve get in touch for a referral.

Any advice? Obviously I’m worried it is something sinister.

I was going to say B12 deficiency, did they specifically check that on the blood test?
Tingling, numbness and being clumsy were my symptoms.
Did they also check thyroid?
I assume so. I hope you get answers soon & it’s something easily fixable.

Yes B12 and thyroid all ok but I don’t know the actual numbers so will check that, thank you.

I would go with low Vitamin Bs as a starting point, especially B12

Numbness, tingling shouldn’t be ignored, tripping also. If things don’t improve ask for referral to Neurologist, hopefully the Neurologist will request imaging, an MRI scan will rule out MS. I have MS dx 11 years ago.

Thank you all. Just got my bloods printout. B12 and folate both fine. Thyroid fine too.

It says I have mild normocytic anaemia. And serum ferritin a bit low.

Symptoms still present but not worsening.
