Anyone suffer from acne (in 30s/40s etc) and/or rosacea?

Have been to dermatologist about 3 times over the years, but because my spots are only a few (but horrible) they have always only given me topical stuff that I might as well buy over the counter. Nothing works, and sometimes they are not too bad but particularly bad today and I just want to go AAAAAGGHH!! I'm 40!!!!

Also my dad has a bit of rosacea (my own diagnosis) and I suffer from red skin too. Has anyone tried the clinique lotion for redness? Or anything else?

i'vegot it mildly, i was told it's sunlight and daylight that's the problem, i now always wear foundation with spf18 to block the rays out, this seems to keep it in check (whereas the days i dont bother, it flares up again)

I have rosacea and used to have acne. Cinique products are a no-no, very harsh ime.

What seem to make the biggest difference, in order, are omega oil supplements, zinc supplements and mild topical products (salicylic acid based).

I suffer from rosacea, as does my dad. He takes antibiotics for it, but I don't want to do that. I use mineral foundation to cover it up.

I did try the new clinique anti-redness creams, but found they made no difference whatsoever.

I've found increasing my water intake, reducing the amount of tea and red wine I take helps. Drinking about 3 mugs of hot water with a slice of lemon everyday and using a moisturiser for senstive skin helps a lot. I notice a real difference in a few days. Mine has been worse since having children.

I suffer from acne still, I do the things talulatreefrog mentions too and they do help, but my flare ups seem hormone linked. Have tried various topical lotions from gp, and very strong tablets which had very bad side effects and didnt work (forget the name of them will try and rememebr).

I find when I go abroad or we have a heatwave my skins clears up! It is very embarassing and frustrating to be a spotty adult.
