I’m hoping by putting my feeling in writing I can try and relieve some of the anxiety.

For around 5 weeks now I’ve been having what I can describe as vertigo but there’s no spinning. It feels more like my brain is swaying round and round. It started with random little head rushes now and then to full blown head pressure attacks where my head felt like lead weight and it would only be relieved by laying down. About 2 weeks into this I started to have bad tinnitus and blocked ears. I had my ears checked after that but no sign of infection. Then I began to feel tingling in my foot which has spread upwards to my knee but this feeling does ease off now and then. Throughout all of this I haven’t had any headaches or pain in general. I feel constantly jittery and shaky. I’ve been waking up with internal tremors in my back/chest.

I see my gp next Thursday which is the earliest they can see me. I have been beside myself that something is very wrong and my anxiety is through the roof. The very thought of leaving my children and husband is just crippling. Im only 32.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Or can anyone offer absolutely anything that will help me calm down

I’m going to buy some b12 and iron supplements today and get started. Even if they don’t help with my problems I’m sure it’ll be good for me regardless.

Great I hope they help OP. How are you today?

Summergirl22 · 20/02/2023 08:10

Feeling the same other than my left leg twitching constantly! My head is still foggy. Just need to get to Thursday to see the gp. Praying they can help!

How was the doctors @Summergirl22 ?

Summergirl22 · 24/02/2023 12:30

being sent for an urgent mri. I’ve started having intermittent internal tremors so I’m guessing something isn’t right. My bloods were clear from A&E but having them repeated a week Monday and testing for b12 and thyroid. All still a big mystery at the moment. My mental health has declined massively. I’m really struggling.

Sorry that things are getting worse @Summergirl22 , it really does take a toll on your mental health when these things are happening. It’s good that you’re being referred for an MRI, hopefully it won’t take too long. In the meantime be kind to yourself and take it easy, rest up.

Skuno · 07/11/2023 17:41

What were you diagnosed with finally? In same boat.

Starrrz · 30/11/2023 15:53

@Skuno how are you now? My ears are blocked and im soooo dizzy :( x

Skuno · 30/11/2023 19:54

@Starrrz still same situation. Its not going away. I am on some anti dizziness tabs. You will need them prescribed.

User963 · 30/11/2023 20:02

https://understandingb6toxicity.com/

any chance you’ve been taking b6 supplements?

Starrrz · 30/11/2023 20:09

@Skuno how long has it gone on for you? As apprently it can last a few months. Mine started late oct and start November was worse! I have some anti dizzy tablets starting with a p? Other name for it is stemitil or something.
which ones do you have ? X

Skuno · 30/11/2023 20:59

@Starrrz omdays some started mid October and got worse! I was given same tab as you to begin with but GP changed it to betahistine for long term. I have got to ENT and they have referred me to audiology for further testing. He said sounds like a neurological or vestibular problem. I came on here for support or people in same boat. What kind of dizziness do you have?

Starrrz · 30/11/2023 21:10

@Skuno the dr also said thats the next tablet ill need yo try. Has it helped the dizzyness eased for you? I suffer with dizzyness on and off, so im not sure whether alot of stress, started after a week after my operation!
my dizzyness feel very weird, like its in my head but i feel unstable! Did you recently have a cold or flu?
because if you ET are blocked then i guess this could be very normal. And could ease, have you tried the balloon thing for your nose? Ive just ordered an ear popper. I suffer with tinnutis, ear pain etc since covid in 2020 and alot of neuro issues but they put it down to longcovid. My body always over reacts now after an illness.
just want it to go away 😩😩 how is your dizzy ess? X

Starrrz · 30/11/2023 21:13

@Skuno ive been 3 ents in the last 3 years and they just say it will pass. Because my MRIs have all been clear, i just had another one before being discharged from neurologist so im hoping will it show any issues with my ears. Another this is vestibular migraines. But i do think its weird how my ears are crackling and just feel weird . X

lesdeluges · 30/11/2023 21:49

I feel for those suffering with this. Any of you have sudden deafness in one ear?

I'm just mentioning it because deafness, along with dreadful dizzyness could be Menieres disease. I had it and honestly it was one of the worst things I have ever experienced. When the dizzies started I was told by doc to focus on one item let's say a kettle and stick with it, eventually the dizzies calmed down. But oh my it was awful. All good again now. Only had stemetil to calm the nausea and reduced salt and caffeine. I don't drink, but alcohol should be avoided.

Unfortunately my hearing didn't improve much even though the dizzies went away. Hope you'll all be ok. It can be so embarrassing to get an attack when out and about, as people think you are absolutely hammered drunk!

Starrrz · 30/11/2023 22:06

@lesdeluges so you have MD?
how long does the dizzyness last for you?
i have had tinnutis for a while, and pressure in my ear with dizzyness but i do have good hearing. The dr said to me labyrinthitis?
xx

lesdeluges · 30/11/2023 22:26

The dizzies could last all day at times and I honestly had to take to my bed as it was too dangerous to go anywhere. That lasted for about two months but the episodes got less and less frequent and (touch wood) I haven't had a recurrence in three years. However yes I had that full feeling in my ear, and I lost some hearing which has not improved but I feel fine again now.

Starrrz · 30/11/2023 22:33

@lesdeluges oo gosh!! Bless you that must of been awful :( im hoping mine will start easing soon! Its almost like if ive done abit of tidying up it comes on. I ordered a £100 ear popper so gonna try that. Ans hoping the dizzyness eases x
how long has your friend currently had it for ? X

Skuno · 01/12/2023 23:45

@Starrrz Basically, betahistine takes off the edge. Some good days and you get good few hours before the dip period. After you start feeling out of balance got to take another pill.

Stress could be a contributory factor. I had a stressful c section so I do think I have been stressed out this year. However not more than any other person. Everyone has their own stresses so I don't get entirely how stress can do this.

I didn't have any flu or cold. My b12 was on the low side and had a swollen lymph node. I did think it's some virall at the beginning.

ENT suspects I may have some variant of Vestibular Migrant.

I thought my symptoms were more towards PPPD though.

I do get tinnitus too. Do you feel like lights are flickering sometimes?

Alot of proople on other threads have mentioned covid can make you dizzy etc so who knows it could be stemming from that.

Starrrz · 02/12/2023 08:27

@Skuno if youvr just had a c section and you have a new born baby its alot on your body! Could even be due to hormones! I also get tinnutis started a few months after i had my little girl.
now in my other ear its like roaring sooo annoyingg!!

so i take amitriptyline, so thats meant to help with vestibular migraines!

i see lights flicker too! I also have weird vision since all this started! Like lots of floaters and blurry vision!
i hope one day it just all goes ive had enough of it all xx

User963 · 02/12/2023 13:39

All these symptoms are seen with small fibre neuropathy which can be caused by too much vitamin b6 or covid. I’ve felt dizzy for years but only recently realised it’s sfnp and due to low blood volume from sfnp from b vitamin supplements.
the website I linked earlier is really helpful for considering how to reduce dizziness by adequate electrolyte hydration and avoiding vasodilators as these make symptoms of low blood
volume worse.

User963 · 02/12/2023 13:39

Lots of people with sfnp get the vision issues too.

Skuno · 02/12/2023 17:27

@Starrrz I do suspect hormones have a part to play too. Around monthlies it gets really bad.

Oh did they actually diagnose you with VMigraines? How is the tablet?

Skuno · 02/12/2023 17:28

@User963 but I never took any b6 supplements. Which department diagnosed you? Audiology or neurology?

User963 · 02/12/2023 17:52

A neurologist would diagnose sfnp. B6 can be in sports drinks and protein powders so some people do end up taking it when they didn’t realise. However if you haven’t taken any then hopefully it’s not that.

LoreleiG · 02/12/2023 18:12

I get weird dizziness/vertigo sometimes and my GP said it was fluid build up in my middle ear. This was five years ago and I am still here. A nasal spray helps. I have very annoying sinuses generally, a tendency to viral sinusitis and ear infections after a cold and a post-nasal drip/allergies. So it figures.
