Green tea bag's carcinogenic

I have read this randomly on the internet and have seen YouTube shorts as well that the green tea bags are carcinogenic as they have some chemicals that gets released in the hot water? I have nearly 3-4cups of green tea day and it's difficult for me to cut the bag brew and strain it as I find it annoying and time consuming?

Loose leaf tea is hard to find!

YouTube shorts, those well known sources of medical information Hmm

Everything is carcinogenic if you have enough of it.

stop getting health information from YouTube.

I would put money on that being nonsense, but if you're that bothered, use loose leaf and a pod strainer that you can pre-load.

why are you giving this headspace? Just ignore it

oxygen is poisonous, by the way, very few people can survive being exposed to it for more than a century

My dad always used loose leaf tea still ended up with cancer sadly Blush. I know it's just stupid stuff but then when you have seen cancer so closely it scares you a bit!

Loose leaf is not hard to find. It's in every supermarket and even my corner shop.

As others have said, everything is carcinogenic in one way or another if you have too much of it. Some tea bags are bleached and in theory if the tea bags aren't washed properly (they tend to be or they'd have loads of dead customers) then the bleach could come out.

However, I've seen it estimated that drinking 200 cups of this tea a day for 70 years would increase your chance of getting a cancer by 1 in 1,000,000.

If you're drinking that much tea, you're going to die of something else way before cancer gets you.

So I think you're okay on this one. 😉

If you are worried about cancers, then alcohol is something to avoid, especially in things you don't think about like mouthwash. Obviously don't smoke and use sun cream.

I just think cancer is random. As I said my dad has cancer - he never smoked, never had alcohol, always did his cardio, lived a very healthy lifestyle yet it attacked him (2 different types) when we all were happy that daddy overcame it Booommm!!! He got another cancer as a side effect of his previous cancer's treatment. The irony!!!

There's sadly a lot that we don't understand about cancer still and I am sorry about your father. I picked mine up from hospital where he's had a biopsy following cancer treatment, so I can understand a little. Its not nice at all and makes you feel very mortal.

However, I think you need to try not to worry overly much (as that will kill you quicker than cancer in many cases) and live the best life you can, taking sensible precautions. I don't think either of our fathers would want us to live out lives in fear because they died of cancer.

I avoid alcohol, dont smoke and don't overeat, but I dont wear sun cream as I grew up in the Far East and any damage that has been done is not something I can change. I'm not going to live for ever, but I've already lasted a lot longer than youthful me thought I ever would.
