PIP- more than one health condition

Does anyone else find PIP tricky how they ask which condition causes you problems with e.g. daily living when in fact it is a combination?

I think I have an assessment due next year and already feeling stressed about it. I have had to appeal once and once had it reversed after them withdrawing it. Both times they have not understood the extent of my conditions one of which is a bit unusual.

Anyway, just wondered if others had found the same and how you tackle this. If you have different conditions either physical mental or a combination and they cause tiredness, pain, etc

I am quite wise to PIP assessors now and know some of their tricks.

What they try and do with me if put my problems down to a more 'minor' condition especially somethign they think it not as permanent or with less 'specialist support' for example they might try and pin things on a vitamin D deficiency which could be treated, or the menopause for example.

This makes me almost avoid treatment for these things in case it comes up at assessment and gives them something new to say is less serious and a 'change in circumstances'

It's stressful, my main conditions are serious and with no cure. Can anyone relate? How do you tackle this?

It shouldn't really matter what the cause is because the assessment is about what the impact is. My DD has a brain malformation, learning disabilities and ASD. She is very impulsive with no real sense of danger. It's impossible to say which of her conditions causes that.

I’ve just had my renewal call , they went through each of my conditions in turn and I was able to say how they impact on each other - for me crohns and CKD

Yes how they impact each other is a good way to describe things. I remember the ESA form had a section specifically about this. Not sure about PIP having such a section but good to know they discussed it on the phone.

So they're still doing calls on the phone for PIP rather than visiting you?
